Hospital News (Day 1)

Today Grandma could not breath very well and had a fever all night. Grandpa said she was up all night trying to breath a little better. She was not able to get in my car, so I called 911 for an ambulance. They arrived and administered oxygen and placed an IV. Took her by ambulance to Alta View Hospital where they transferred her to IMC Hospital ICU unit. Grandma has fluid in her lungs, maybe from congestive heart failure. Her kidneys are working overtime. However, they still have not ruled out pneumonia. She has a Lung Specialist, Heart Specialist, and a Kidney Specialist, so she is in very good hands. The nurse is darling and checks her very regularly. They have given her antibiotics and Tylenol to keep her fever down. She had a 102 fever and her sugar levels were 180, but they are watching her closely. The ICU is limited to 2 visitors in the room at a time and they are trying to keep visits about 10 minutes long. The nurses call her the "CHATTER-BOX PATIENT". Grandma really needs to rest, and hopefully she will sleep tonight. Keep her in your prayers. No children under 14 are allowed in the ICU unit. Pictures and cards would be great.

COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS EACH DAY

Rich and I received a phone call early Sunday Morning (10-12-08) stating all is well, however there was a little accident. The call was from Rose explaining that Tyler and herself were walking across the street, in a cross walk, at the light, when a young man driving an SUV struck Tyler, throwing him 25 feet and promptly running over Rose's Right foot (Rose being 8 & 1/2 months pregnant) They were fortunate to have an officer at the light of the accident and he called for an ambulance. We were pleased to find baby Vincent was doing fine, and Rose with a broken right foot and Tyler with a broken left hand were able to come home the next day. So count each blessing every day!

Adventures in Lake Powell

The sun brings FUN! and we always love to play in the water and in the sand, especially with friends and family. SeAnna & Kaydence, and Haylee and her friend Jacob, and Rich and I ventured to Lake Powell with our great friends Steve & Claudia, their children Sean, Jordan, and Sierra. Of course don't forget Granny Fran (whom Kaydence thinks she is "her granny too") You can just feel the warm breeze on your face as you take a boat drive down the beautiful valleys of Lake Powell. We always seem to end up at the Ice Cream Parlor on the dock, so the kids think that every time we go for a ride we get ice cream. (they are no dummies) Enjoyed the laughter and sunny days of the great adventure.
